Mother’s day is May 9th; a day that celebrates moms in over 46 countries around the world. It’s a day where we take a moment to thank our moms for everything. The origin of Mother's Day goes back to the era of the ancient Greeks and Romans. But the roots of Mother's Day history can also be traced in UK where a Mothering Sunday was celebrated much before the festival saw the light of the day in US. Millions of people across the globe take the day as an opportunity to honor their mothers, thank them for their efforts in giving them life, raising them and being their constant support and well wisher.
We have found some easy ways to celebrate Mother’s Day . Here are a few ideas from around our office to delight the one who is your constant support system.
"I can’t be with my mom on Mother’s Day, it is a crazy time for my kids and everyone has a packed schedule so I send her a beautiful tea cup every year and we make some homemade cookies to send. She opens them up and we spend an hour on the phone catching up. It’s not as good as having tea together but it works for us."
"Every year we go over to her house and fill her garden with flowers, the first year we did this as a surprise and she came home and her garden was full of color. Now she knows we are coming and she prepares lemonade for us to enjoy as we are filling her flower beds with color that will last throughout the season."
"My mom passed away years ago and a good friend of hers over the years has become my “other mother” , we make it a point to have breakfast together after church every mother’s day. We exchange gifts, she celebrates me being a mom and I thank her for taking on one more into her fold. It is a great day of appreciation."
So if you are still looking for the perfect gift to spark a new tradition between you and your Mom, we hope to help you find it.
