The RSH design team travels worldwide to meet with manufacturers and other designers for find the best merchandise ideas for each catalog and one of the overall finds of the year has been the recognized favorite color of blue.
The color blue keeps with the theme of truth, integrity, openness and hope so it was not surprise to us to find out that the color of Icy Blue was selected as the design color of the year. The following excerpts were taken from one of our favorite sites, Sensational Color and their feature “Trend Tuesday”.
“The Color of the Year is an airy and optimistic blue that symbolizes infinite horizons, new beginnings, renewed energy and a positive dynamic. This clear, transparent shade encapsulates a sense of purity and goodness – a hopeful and chemical free color full of possibility. Given these associations plus the fact that it is a receding color it will always create a sense of space.”
There are infinite shades of blue, the possibilities are endless and mixing various shades in a room is a great design technique. Adding touches of blue through furniture, accessories or wall color can be refreshing and re-energizing.
