RSH Readers, we have somebody we are really excited to introduce you to, our favorite catalog family, the Harpers. We hope you follow along with us, as we chronicle their lives through a series of short stories.
The Harpers are the classic All-American family; they find joy in the simple things in life like spending time with their friends and family. Christopher and Lauren Harper are the fairytale couple that everybody knows, but have no idea how they do it - high school sweethearts, they are as happy together as the first day they met. The Harpers have two little beautiful little girls at home, Amanda (13) and Madison (11). The whole family is never happier than when spending time together; a picnic in the backyard is just as much as fun as an extravagant vacation.
Although she never shows it, Lauren Harper is stressed. Between the girls’ busy after school schedule, getting dinner on the table, and being engrossed in a great book (the only dalliance she allows herself) she worries about some details of the party she is throwing for her Dad’s 70th Birthday. Her Dad is far from flashy so the guest list is short and the menu simple, but her Dad is her hero so she wants to make sure he has a great time. She has decided to make fajitas because they are simple and social, and pair easily with margaritas, Christopher’s favorite. She flashes back to something she saw in one of her favorite catalogs, RSH Catalog, and a cute pitcher and margarita glass set that would be a perfect complement to her favorite party dishes.
The margarita pitcher and glasses arrived just in time, and were a real hit with her guests, especially her Dad. With the closest thing to a crisis in Lauren’s life having been averted, she allows a smile of satisfaction to stretch across her face while enjoying the refreshing cocktail with dear old Dad.
